    • You can change out the heads to better suit your needs, as long as the fixture and the track are compatible.

    • Lights can easily be moved to adjust the lighting based on changes in your living space, from furniture position, artwork placement, or room setup.

THE ELEMENTS OF TRACK LIGHTING

Track lighting has a few different components you’ll need to select in order to create your lighting setup:

1. HEAD (AKA, FIXTURE OR LAMP)

The head is the movable piece of the track lighting system that holds the light bulb. If you are uncertain about what type of track lighting system you want, start by finding a style of head that you like.

Heads are usually not universally interchangeable, so find a line that carries the most styles of heads you like and go from there. That means, later on, if you want to change up the look of your system, you will enjoy more flexibility.

  • The amount of space between heads depends on your personal preference, lighting requirements and what you are illuminating. If uncertain, starting with 1’ distance between each head is a good starting point. You can always adjust it later!

  • The number of heads you can have on a track depends on the number of watts each track is built to support. If you use LED bulbs, which have a much lower wattage, a single track can hold many heads!

2. TRACKS

Tracks come in a variety of colours and finishes, and is the part of the track lighting system thaat is mounted to a ceiling or wall. Because of the variety of styles available, it is easy to find one that works well with your home.

The inside of the track contains a copper strip that conducts electricity, allowing you to place heads anywhere along the track.

TIP” Make sure that the heads you intend on purchasing are compatible with your track! Usually this is certain when the track and the heads are from the same line.

Track lighting is the highly functional and very versatile lighting system your home or restaurant needs. It has been very popular and for good reason, with its easy installation, infinitely customizable layout options, and variety of lamp styles and track finishes make it easy to incorporate into your home.
